Mission Mausam is a multidimensional initiative launched in 2014 by the Ministry of Culture and IGNCA with ASI’s support. Drawing from ancient Indian Ocean trade routes, it seeks to revive historical, cultural, and economic linkages across the Indian Ocean Rim (IORA). Named after the “Mausam” (monsoon winds), the project combines cultural diplomacy, maritime trade revival, and climate resilience, positioning India as a key player in the Indo-Pacific.
