The UPSC CSE is India’s most prestigious examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission to recruit officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and other central services. It consists of three stages — Prelims, Mains, and Interview (Personality Test).

Any Indian citizen with a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and aged between 21 and 32 years (with applicable category relaxations) can apply. There are also specific criteria for nationality and number of attempts.
